Century, the present is one of the most curious and elaborate; and probably the most beautiful for its typographical execution. The paper, press work, and embellishments (although the latter are, for the greater part, very coarsely executed), are perhaps unrivalled by the efforts of any other artist in our country within the period named." Apart from the last-quoted Bibliographer's somewhat gushing description, the book is generally admitted to be Wynken de Worde's most magnificent production. Bartholomew Glanville was one of the most profoundly learned men of his time.
