Being a confutation of the arguments from reaon used by the Arminians; and particularly by Dr. Whitby, in his discourse on the Five points against the doctrines of eternal election, particular redemption, the efficacy of God's Grace, and the impotence of man's will in conversion, and the final perseverance of the Saints; wherein is consider'd whether these doctrines bear any likeness to the sentiments of Mr. Hobbs, and the [?] philosophers, concerning liberty, necessity, and fate; with a vindication of such arguments as proceed upon rational accounts in favour of the above doctrines; to which is added, a defence of the objections to the universal scheme, taken from the prescience and Providence of God, and the case of the heathens.
