To heav'n, my longing soul! aspire,

To-morrow, Lord is thine,

To our almighty maker, God,

To pay our God the tribute due,
To thee let my first off'rings rise,
To thee, my God! I raise my voice,
To thee, my God! my days are known;
To thee, most holy, and most high!
To thee, O God! my pray'r ascends,
To those who fear and trust the Lord
To your creator, God,

Triumphant Lord thy goodness reigns
Twas from thy hand, great God! I came,
'Twas God who hurl'd the rolling spheres

Vain are the charms, and faint the rays,
Vain is the toilsome search of good
Vast are thy works, almighty Lord!

We bless the Lord, the just, the good,
We sing th' almighty pow'r of God,

What shall I render to my God,
What shall I render to the Lord.
What sinners value, I resign:
What though downy slumbers flee,
When all the pow'rs of nature fail;
When all thy mercies, O my God!
When blooming youth is snatch'd
When death appears before ny sight,
Whene'er, O God, with raptur'd eye,
When fancy spreads her boldest wings,

Where love and all the graces reign,
Where shall we go to seek and find
While beauty clothes the fertile vale,

While some in folly's pleasures roll
While sounds of war are heard around,
While thee I seek, protecting pow'r!
While thoughtless sinners choose

While to the grave our friends are borne,
While, with remorse and woe oppress'd?
Who can by searching find out God?
Who, gracious Father! can complain
Who shall ascend thy heav'nly place,
Why is my heart with grief oppress'd?
Why, O my soul, thus sunk in woe?
Why sinks my weak desponding mind?
Why should I thus perplex.
Why should this earth delight us so?
Why will you waste on trifling cares
With all my pow'rs of heart and tongue
With glory clad, with strength array'd,
With God my friend, the radiant sun,
Within thy churches, Lord,

With kind compassion hear my cry,

With my whole heart I've sought thy face:
With pleasing wonder, Lord! we view
With rev'rence let the saints appear
With sacred joy we lift our eyes

Would you behold the works of God,

Ye bless'd inhabitants of heav'n,
Ye followers of the prince of peace,
Ye golden lamps of heav'n! farewell,
Ye holy souls, in God rejoice,

Ye humble souls, complain no more,
Ye nations round the earth, rejoice
Ye righteous, in the Lord rejoice
Ye righteous, in your king rejoice,

HOW pleasant, how divinely fair,

O LORD of hosts, thy dwellings are! With long desire my spirit faints To meet th' assemblies of thy saints. 2 My flesh would rest in thine abode; My panting heart cries out for GOD: My Gop, my king, why should I be So far from all my joys, and thee? 3 Blest are the saints who sit on high, Around thy throne of majesty: Thy brightest glories shine above, And all their work is praise and love.
