INGRATITUDE.

Judges ix, 16, 18-20. 2 Chron. xx, 10, 11. Ps. cxxxiii, 1. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.

Mark xii, 31. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

Rom. xill, 8--11. Owe no man any thing, but to love one another for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt pot kill. ginning. Again, a new commandment I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you; because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth. He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now. He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.

1 John iii, 10, 11, 13, 14, 18, Whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother. For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you. We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren: he that loveth not his brother abideth in death. My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed, and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.

LOVE TO ENEMIES.

Exod. xxiii, 4, 5. If thou meet thine enemy's ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again. If thou see the ass of him that hateth thee lying under his burden, and Wouldest forbear to help him; thou shalt surely help with him.

Prov. xxiv, 17. Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth.

Prov. xxv, 21, 22. If thine enemy be hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he be thirsty, give him water to drink: For thou shalt heap coals o fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee.

Matth. v, 43, 44, 46, 47. Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and have thine enemy: But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?

Luke vi, 26 -28, 32-35. Woe unto you when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets. But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you. Rom. xii, 15, 16. Rejoice with them tha do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
