[First edition of the Bishops' Bible. The tradition attached to this volume is that it was presented by Queen Elizabeth to a member of the Honywood Family; and this tradition is borne out by the fact that the centrepiece is engraved with the Royal Arms, and with the initials EL. RE. on each side, and the same inscription is on the clasp holders. The bosses are engraved with the Tudor Rose. The volume was unfortunately imperfect, as it wanted the title and some preliminary leaves, and some leaves at the end were injured. Catalogue.]

Collation, Table 6 leaves, part of first leaf torn away, a to z, and 9 in sixes, the first leaf of this signature in MS. and part of 6 6 torn away; A to H in sixes, I four leaves, with Caxton's device at end.
