One word, in conclusion, to you, Gentiles, that believe.

Remember, that Israel, after the flesh, is a type of all the Israel of God-you, like them, may be suffering under desertion-you may think that God has forgotten to be gracious, but he doth not cast off for ever his eye is upon his prepared habitation, and every converted soul is the habitation of God through the spirit. Trust then in the name of the Lord, and stay upon your God. Yours are all the promises-even those which, in their primacy and literal import, are addressed to the natural Israel in their spiritual signification, extended to the whole Church of God.

I shall now draw to a close-by directing my reader to Sodom and Gomorah, as set forth as a example of the vengeance of God. We are not to read this merely as an history or tale of past times -but remember that it stands on record for our learning, on whom the ends of the world are come -for as it was in the days of Lot, so shall the coming of the Son of Man be-the cup of iniquity has ever

been full, before the cup of vengeance has been poured out-violence had covered the earth before the flood came-the iniquity of Sodom had not left ten persons living by divine righteousness before God rained thereon fire from heaven-the nations of Canaan were completely sunk in idolatry before Israel destroyed them-the Jews had filled the measure of their iniquity by crucifying the Son of God, before all the righteous blood shed from the first Martyr, Abel, to Zecharias, was avenged-Antichrist had shed the blood of the Prophets before she had blood to drink-and infidelity must complete her conquest, before the reign of Christ.

Here we see the deceit of the human heart- God's judgments are going forth in the earth-his word shall be fulfilled, and the elect of God shall, like Abraham, have a distant view of the vengeance of God. Happy they who are living by divine righteousness, and looking for the coming of the Lord; when "The Sun supreme his various race shall view : Thus, all his long prevented works restored; Evil shall end, eternal peace prevail,

And nature joy in thy triumphant reign.
Immanuel-this all her bounds set up-

Thus, by the sound of the Seventh Trumpet roused,
The heavenly choirs shall hail with glad acclaim-
The rescued kingdoms of this world become
The kingdoms of our Lord and of his Christ.
