29th. (LEAP YEAR.) As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Rev. iii. 19. Job. v. 17.

Hear this, ye fav'rites of the Lord,
Who mourn beneath his rod;
Hear and rejoice at every word,
And trust your loving God.

MARCH.

1st. I will direct their work in truth.

Isa. lxi. 8. lv. 3.

Jesus is become at length,

My salvation and my strength;
All his praises shall prolong
While I live my pleasant song.

2d. He restoreth my soul. Ps. xxiii. 3.
Through all the changing scenes of life,
In trouble and in joy;
The praises of my God shall still

My heart and tongue employ.

3rd. I will hedge up thy way with Hos. ii. 6. Job. xii. 23. xix. 8. Almighty, to rescue thou art,

thorns.

Thy grace is my only resource;
If e'er thou art Lord of my heart,
Thy spirit must take it by force.

4th. My people shall know my name. Isa. lii. 6.

Awake our noblest powers to bless

The God of Abraham-God of peace;

Now by a dearer title known,

Father and God of Christ his Son.

5th. I will not leave you comfortless : I will come to you. John xiv. 18. Matt. xxviii. 20. verse 3, 28, same chapter.

O make this heart rejoice or ache!
Decide this doubt for me;

And if it be not broken-break,
And heal it, if it be.

6th. When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the Lord will heal them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them. Isa. xli. 17.

In every dark distressful hour,

When sin and satan join their power;
Let this dear hope repel the dart,

That Jesus bears us on his heart.

7th. I said not to the seed of Jacob, Seek ye me in vain. Is. xlv. 19. Deut. XXX. 19.

May past ingratitude

Provoke our weeping eyes,

And hourly as new mercies fall,
Let hourly thanks arise.

8th. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life feeely. Rev. xxi. 6. Isa. li. 1. John iv. 10, 14. There is a fountain fill'd with blood, Drawn from Immanuel's veins,

And sinner's plung'd beneath that flood
Lose all their guilty stains.

9th.-Ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests. Exod. xix. 6. 1 Pet. ii. 5, 9. Rev. i. 6.

'Mong all the priests of Jewish race,
Jesus the most illustrious stands;
The radiant beauty of his face

Superior love and awe demands.

10th. Your heart shall live that seek God. Ps. lxix. 32. xxii. 26.

Kind author and ground of my hope,
Thee, thee for my God I avow;
My glad Ebenezer set up,

And own thou hast help'd me till now.

11th. Even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you. Isa. xlvi. 4. Ps. cii. 27.

I'll speak the honours of thy name,
With my last lab'ring breath,
And dying clasp thee in my arms,
The antidote of death.

12th. They that sow in tears shall reap

in joy.

Ps. cxxvi. 5. Jer. xxxi. 9.

Soon shall Immanuel's hand

Wipe every weeping eye;

Soon shall we enter Canaan's land

And ever shout for joy.

13th. I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. Jer. xxix. 11.

Confirm'd by one soft secret word,
I seek no other light;

But walk depending on my Lord,

By faith, and not by sight.

14th. I will be with thee in trouble.

Ps. xci. 15. Isa. xliii. 2.

Dear refuge of my weary soul,
On thee when sorrows rise;
On thee when waves of trouble roll
My fainting hopes relies.

15th.-Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people. Jer. vii. 23. Exod. xv. 26.

My God, the steps of pious men
Are ordered by thy will;

Though they should fall, they rise again,
Thy hand supports them still.

16th. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. Ps. xxxiv. 19. verse 6, 17.

But God will ne'er cast off his saints,

Nor his own promise break;

He pardons his inheritance

For their Redeemer's sake.

17th. There shall not a hair of your

head perish. Luke xxi. 18.

His promise bears me up;

His faithfulness I find

Matt. x. 30.

A solid ground for lively hope,

To my desponding mind.

18th. I will love them freely.

xiv. 4. Eph. i. 6.

Vouchsafe us to know

More of thee below,

Then fit us for heaven, and glory bestow :

Our harps shall be tun'd,

The Lamb shall be crown'd,

Hos.

Salvation to Jesus through heaven shall sound.

19th.-Ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace. Isa. lv. 12. xxxv. 10. Hark! the voice of my Beloved,

Lo, he comes in greatest need,
Leaping on the lofty mountains-
Skipping over hills with speed.

20th.

There remaineth therefore a rest
Heb. iv. 9.

for the people of God.

In that Jerusalem above

No pain the happy spirit meets;
No sense of ill-requited love,

No sad complaining in our streets.

21st. They shall reign with him a thousand years. Rev. xx. 6. verse 4.

O when, Almighty Lord,

Shall these glad scenes arise-
To verify thy word,

And bless our wond'ring eyes.

22d.-Behold, I create a new heaven and a new earth. Isa. lxv. 17. li. 16. lxvi. 22. 2 Pet. iii. 13.

Amazing, beauteous change,

A world created new !

My thoughts with transport range,

The lovely scene to view.

23rd. We shall reign on the earth. Rev. v. 10. Job. xix. 25.

With him I on Zion shall stand,
For Jesus hath spoken the word;
The breadth of Immanuel's land,
Survey by the light of the Lord.
