CHAPTER I

INTRODUCTORY REMARKS

HE Bible is the Great Magna Charta of all humanity. Ages before the English people and Barons wrung their Magna Charta from their bigoted and pusillanimous King John, the Greater Magna Charta of Human Liberty was written into the constitution of Adam at his creation.

To the devout Protestant, the Bible is the very word of God, supernaturally revealed to his earthly children. It is the Supreme Law. It is the infallible rule of Faith and Morals, and it is the only infallible thing on earth. It is complete as written. Hence it pronounces a curse upon any and all who may blasphemously add thereto or subtract therefrom. It is perfect, infallible teaching. The few errors that may have crept in through the open door of the Copyist or Translator are incidental and unimportant. The Bible stands as a whole today. The Supreme Law of God and the infallible guide to the human Race, whether they accept it or reject it. Whether they approve or disapprove they will stand or fall before this Supreme Court and Judge, at the final award to all men for Eternity, on the basis of this Law. This is because the Book is the Eternal Truth of God. Individuals may pass away, Nations may rise and fall, but the Book of God, the Eternal Truth will never pass away. Political and religious

organizations may endure for a time, but they will fail and be destroyed except in so far as they maintain the Eternal Truth of God; and the dignity of man, as he was originally created and as indicated in the precious sacredness of his Redemption, and the glorious destiny prepared for him in the Eternities.

It is said of Martin Luther that he resurrected the Doctrine of "Justification by Faith" In a great measure this is true; for in those "Dark Ages" of human depravity, slavery, moral degradation and rottenness, the Doctrine was well nigh buried and lost sight of. But, "Truth though crushed to earth, will rise again". It will never die. As well try to blot Jehovah out of the Universe as try to kill His truth. Its final triumph is absolutely certain. But it is the purpose of this writing to go back beyond the 16th Century of our era, back of King John and his barons, to the many thousands of years previous, when man was first created; and show that the doctrine of "Justification by Faith", and all that it implies, was originally written upon the constitution of man in his creation.

A materialistic and false Evolutionism makes our mother earth the origin of our race through innumerable gradations occupying thousands, even millions of years, until he finally emerges a man, a poor and degraded specimen at that, the lowest form of savage life; and since then by a constant, mysterious, pressure of some invisible, natural power, he has been forced up to his present condition of freedom and dignity as exemplified in the most favored

nations and individuals of this 20th Century. But the most profound scientists of this age agree that Evolution explains the origin of nothing, and that life is impossible without life to give it existence.

One class of Evolutionists makes the ordinary dirt our common Mother. And that the forces of Evolution occupied thousands if not millions of years for the Mollusk to become a Man and thousands of years more to reach his present condition.

CHAPTER II

MAN MADE IN GOD'S IMAGE

GOD says He made man in His own image and gave him power over all created things on the earth; made him King of all and conferred upon him certain Kingly prerogatives and individual rights, which he must maintain or he will inflict and entail untold miseries upon himself and his race. Evolution degrades humanity. God honors it with a Crown of Glory, and imprints upon it His own celestial likeness.

But let us examine the Divine Record of the Creation of man, and a little analysis may throw some light upon the matter.

Genesis 1:26 says: "Let us make man in our own image, after our likeness". And when the physical nature was formed, He (God) "breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul." Some think the word "living" means incapable of death.

The 8th Psalm, 5th verse says: "Thou hast made him a little lower than the Angels. Thou hast crowned him with glory and honor. Thou hast put all things under his feet, etc." Now let your gaze rest upon the splendid beauty and perfection of his physical organism. In Genesis we are told that Adam lived 930 years. And nearly all the Antediluvian patriarchs reached an average of this limit. Today the human machine is nearly worn out at 60 or 70 years; and the average limit even less.

There was no scowl of wickedness on Adam's brow. There was no hereditary taint in his blood. Today there are very few human lives without this taint, which proclaims in trumpet tones; "The wages of sin is death", "Even to the third and fourth generations". What a grand personality Adam must have been. There was no degrading servility "bred in his bone" which takes generations of nobler living to eradicate. He bowed the head only to God. He was King and Lord of all on the earth, in the flush of joy and power of a perfect physical organization and a soul but a little lower than the personality of his Divine Creator. What serenity! What grandeur! What nobleness! What majesty! Worthy progenitor of the race! A human machine working in perfect order for nearly a thousand years is an argument in favor of its recent creation which is unanswerable. Did God create the first man with the scowl of servility or wickedness upon his brow? It is unthinkable. Did He create the head of our race with the taint of hereditary vice or profligacy in his veins? It would be a blasphemy and degradation of the Almighty to entertain such a suspicion.

And Eve! the beautiful Eve! the perfect form! the face radiant with love! fit consort for the stately, princely, Adam. What a perfect specimen of vigorous, healthful, graceful, glowing, glorious womanhood. It is a marvel that Adam did not receive her with devout reverence and worship her as a divinity. The great master painters of the world appear to have missed one of the most splendid subjects of their art namely: "The Presentation of Eve to Adam".
