Ireland from 1896 to 1905 had 73 convictions for murder.

The population of Ireland is about the same as that of Scotland and her murders are more than three times as many. All of Ireland except Ulster is largely Romanist.

Now we will examine a few statistics in our own country. The annual report of the Alleghany County Workhouse and Inebriate Asylum for 1912 gives:

A total of 3674 inmates-of these 2016 inmates were Romanists or 10 per cent. more than all others combined. The Bisbee Daily Review of Arizona gives the following statistics taken from the Warden's report for 1913:

Thus Rome furnishes 70 per cent. more convicts than all the others. The Warden at the State Penitentiary at Stillwater, Minnesota, reports:

Total inmates for year ending July 31, 1912, 824. Romanists 334.

With about 15% of the population Rome furnishes over 40% of the criminals.

The Honorable Dexter A. Hawkins reports for the Public and Parochial schools of Maine as follows:

For the Public Schools 11 criminals to 10,000 population.

For the Parochial Schools 160 criminals to 10,000 population.

Perhaps the fact that Cardinal O'Connell lives in Boston may in part account for such a report. Some time ago Ireland compiled a Report of Juvenile offenders as follows:

Romanist population 66%. The Romish schools were in extreme need of Protestant moral influences.

Statistics of 1870 taken from the Census show that the Roman Catholic Parochial schools of New York furnished three and one half times as many paupers, criminals, and moral degenerates, as the Public Schools. As an Economic Measure, of souls, bodies, and expense why does not the great State of New York abolish the Parochial Schools? If according to Romish authorities, "the Public Schools of this country produce nothing but a godless generation of thieves and blackguards;" what kind of language is necessary to describe the product of the Parochial Schools? The description must be in Latin or the writer would be arrested and fined for using obscene language.

The Chaplain at the State Prison at Concord, Mass., reports: of total inmates 560, 400 were Romanists, or more than five times their equal proportion. At Deer Island the number was 75% of the whole; and at the Cambridge house of correction-90%.

We believe the above reports will represent a fair average of all reports on both sides of the Atlantic. They show conclusively the criminality, the illiteracy and the poverty of Romish populations to be from 7 to 9 times that of Protes

tants.

As an Economic measure, of souls, bodies, and cash, why is not Romanism abolished from the face of the whole earth? Will decent people submit to this curse of God forever? If they do then Satan has a heavy mortgage upon Christendom. The enervating, degenerating and paralyzing effect on the mental and moral faculties of the race is so monstrous it can only be interpreted as the curse of God upon any people who submit to it.

THE "MORAL THEOLOGY" AND MORAL STANDARD

IMMORAL ON EARTH

HAT the Roman Catholic peoples are the most vicious and immoral on the face of the earth will create no surprise in the minds of those who have studied the History of the Popes by Doctors Alzog and Pastor and other Romanist writers, whose works have received the approval of the Hierarchy, and also the Roman Catholic "Moral? Theology" by St. Alphonsus Liguori and other eminent Theologians of their own church.

There are certain truths which have become self evident; and are quoted and accepted as maxims, such as, "Like people-like priest", and, "a stream rises no higher than its source". The worship of Molock was savage and the worshipers were saturated with cruelty. The worship of Bacchus was drunken and the worshipers were shamelessly profligate. The worship of Venus and Diana was celebrated with lecherous abandon. "It was love without law." Not love, but passion! Ancient Paganism taught that the most shameless profligacy and vilest criminality might be condoned by rich gifts to the priests; and that priests on account of their holy office should not be held responsible for crimes like laymen.

Modern Paganism (Romanism) masquerading

as a Christian Religion is more immoral, vindictive, and bloody, than any form of Ancient Paganism. Her moral Theology, falsely so called, is the most immoral code ever published by any ancient or modern religion upon this earth.

Her priests and higher clergy are licensed adulterers and murderers. Her Moral Theology says:

"If a priest has committed adultery with another man's wife and the irate husband attacks him it is lawful for the priest to kill him". And it is the law of the Church today that no layman shall compel a priest to come into court for any crime no matter how heinous, under pain of Excommunication. Now this penalty means anathema and ostracism in this life, and hell fire for all eternity. To the devout Romanist hell fire means an actual, material fire, which produces an agony of torture similar to that produced by it in this life. No devout Romanist will dare risk such a catastrophe for time and eternity so long as he has faith in the teachings of his Church. Only when he has lost faith in his Church does he dare to do it. This is one reason why so little is heard of the profligacy and other crimes of the priesthood. That they are as virtuous as a rule as the Protestant Clergy, is a vile slander, and absolutely false. When twenty of the better class of priests in Chicago during the reign of Archbishops Feehan and Quigley preferred specific charges against a large number of bad priests naming adultery, drunkenness, lying, and perjury, frequenting houses of prostitution, etc., the prelates in Chicago gave them no satis
