Minutes of the Association.

CRESTON, IOWA, Wednesday, May 15. 1889.

7:45 P. M. The General Association of the Congregational Churches and Ministers of [owa convened for its fiftieth annual session with the Congregational church of Creston.

After singing, Pres. George A. Gates read the eleventh chapter of Hebrews for the Scripture lesson, and A. L. Frisbie offered prayer. The Associational Sermon was then preached by J. O. Stephenson, of Waterloo, from II Cor. 4: 13. Theme: The Spirit of Faith that Leads to Speech and Action."

THURSDAY, MAY 16.

8:45 A. M. The Association was called to order by the Register. J. M. Cumings, E. S. Hill, F. B. Hicks, and B. St. John, were appointed tellers, and the Association proceeded to the election of officers for the ensuing year. with the following result:

SCRIBE-L. S. Hand, of Ottumwa.

ASSISTANT SCRIBE-Charles Noble, of Charles City.

After a few remarks, the Moderator led in prayer. The following committees were, according to rule, appointed by the Moderator: On Business:. A. W. Archibald, S. J. Beach, J. H. Merrill. (App. A., No. 1.)
