Bruxellis et Tongarloæ 1643-1794. 79 ACTES de la société d'hist. naf. 53 voll.

Complete copies are scarce, and it is difficult to perfect incomplete sets, because the last volumes, at the time in the warehouse, were dispersed and destroyed during the revolution. January, part 1, to October, part 3, appeared at Antwerp, 1643-1770. October, part 4 and 5 at Brussels, 1780, 86, part 6 (12-15 Oct.) at Tongerloo 1794. This last volume is not much known.

This work is thus divided: Jan. 2 vols.— Febr. 3 vols.-March 3 vols.-Apr. 3 vols. May 8 vols. (including the Propylæum ad acta SS. Maii, which contains the supplements to the first, fourth and fifth volumes of this month, which also may be had in these volumes, so that then this month has only 7 volumes.) June 7 vols.-July 7 vols.— Aug. 6 vols.-Sept. 8 vols.-Oct. 6 vols. To these 53 vols. is also added Martyrolog. Usuardi. Antw. 1714. fol. (although this is already contained in the sixth and seventh volume of June) and Acta SS. Bollandiana apologet. libris vindicata, ib. 1755. fol. wherein all the earlier controversial writings that appeared in consequence of this work are collected together.

There is a less correct reprint, Ven., Coleti et Abrizzi 1734, sqq. but of which as yet only 43 volumes have come out. To this impression belong Præfationes, tractatus, diatriba et exegeses præliminares actis SS. præfixa. Ven. 1749. fol. 3 voll. and Acta SS. Bollandiana, apol. libris vindicata. Ven. 1755. fol.

Of this work are published separately with additions: Acta SS. Belgii selecta. Colleg., digess., illust. Jos. Ghesquier. Brux. 1783-94. 4°. 6 voll. Acta SS. Ungariæ ex J. Bollandi ejusq. continuator. operibus excerpta et prolegg. ac notis illustr. Semestria II. Tyrnavia, 1743, 44.

By collating the Antwerp edition it may be remarked that Febr. vol. II. p. 752. has a considerable defect in the text, although the signatures and the pagination proceed correctly. March vol. 2. comes first, p. ILVI. then p. *1-* 216, then p. 1-757. In May vol. 4. there ought to be, between p. 144. and 145. a leaf unpaged and only marked with the addition post p. 144. (supplement to the life of Venantius.) 77 ACTA societ. Jablonovianæ a. 1771-72. Lps., 1772-73.4°.-Nova acta. T. 1-3. ib. 1802-12. 4°. (7 d. 12 gr.)

78 ACTA societ. medicæ Hafniensis. T. 1. 2. Hafn. 1777-79. large 8. Acta regiæ soc. med. Hafn. Vol. 1-4. ib. 1783-1803. large 8°. (8 d. 16 gr.)

Without pagination, catchwords and signatures, in double columns; the type is the same as in Quadriloge d'Alain Chartier, printed by Colard Mansion, 1477. The work has three parts. The first, consisting of 8 leaves, begins with a preface. par chevaliers. The second, of 14 leaves, in prose and verse, concludes the preface, car cest ouvrage est divisez de nuit. The third, of 4 leaves, is superscribed, S'ensuirent autres demandes. The last leaf has on the reverse 23 lines, and concludes, et ainsy en eut quatre los justement sans autre mesure. It is the oldest French collection of merry tales, and is also to be found in an edition of Abuzé en court. 121 ADVIS fidel aux véritables Hollandois, touchant ce qui s'est passé dans les villages de Bodegrave et Swammerdam (par de Wicquefort.) without place, 1673. 4°. with 8 plates by Romain de Hooge.

Sought after on account of the plates. The edition in small 12°. without plates is of no value.
