HE Book of the generation of JESUS CHRIST, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

2 Abraham begat Isaac; and Isaac begat Jacob; and Jacob begat Judah and his brethren;

11 and Hezekiah begat Manasseh; and Manasseh begat Amon; and Amon begat Josiah; 12 and Josiah begat Jehoiakim; and Jehoiakim begat Jechoniah and his brethren, about the time of the transportation to Babylon.

13 And after the transportation to Babylon, Jechoniah begat Salathiel; and Salathiel 1 Chron. iii. 17. begat Zorobabel;

14 and Zorobabel begat Abiud; and Abiud begat Eliakim; and Eliakim begat Azor;

15 and Azor begat Zadoc; and Zadoc begat Achim; and Achim begat Eliud ;
