The President:

What motion has the gentleman to make with reference to the resolution?

Mr. London:

I move its adoption.

Mr. Reese:

I move that the resolution be referred to the Committee on Judicial Reform, to make a written report. Nothing can be done in this matter, the Legislature will not meet before we meet again, and it is an important matter and brought up here on the heel of this Session. Therefore, I move that it be referred to the Committee on Judicial Reform, and that it be printed in the proceedings of this body, so the members will be prepared to vote intelligently upon it next year. A motion to submit is always in order and the effect of my motion is to submit it to the Committee on Judicial Reform. It is an important matter, it is revolutionary, and we ought not to jump into it without consideration.

Mr. Abercrombie:

I move to lay the motion on the table.

The motion to table was carried.

The President:

The question recurs upon the adoption of the resolution by Mr. London.

Mr. Reese:

I suggest that the motion to table carried the whole question with it.

The President:

Technically speaking the gentleman is correct, but we are now out on the water. The question is on the adoption of the resolution offered by Mr. London.

The resolution was adopted.

The President:

The President has a delayed report from the Committee on Legal Education and Admission to the Bar.

Mr. Brickell:

I move that it be received, and printed in the proceedings. The motion was carried.

The Secretary:

I move that the sympathy of the Alabama State Bar Association be extended to Hon. F. G. Bromberg, of Mobile, an ExPresident of the Association, who is prevented by illness from attending this meeting.

The Motion was carried unanimously, by a rising vote.

The President:

It is understood the Secretary will convey the substance of the resolution to Mr. Bromberg.

Mr. O'Neal

I move that the thanks of this Association be tendered to the Bar and citizens of Mobile for their gracious and charming hospitality to the Association.

The motion was carried unanimously, by a rising vote.
The President:

The appointment of a Commitee to co-operate with the Commitee on Judicial Reform in ascertaining whether the work of nisi prius Courts in Alabama has been or is now properly distributed, will be referred to the incoming President, who will have more time and better opportunity to make the selection of its members.

The members of the Committee authorized by resolution on yesterday to prepare a Bill on the Workman's Compensation Act, of which I was made Chairman by resolution, will be J. T. Stokely, of Birmingham, H. F. Reese of Selma, John London of Birmingham, and W. B. Oliver of Tuscaloosa.

The other Committee raised for the purpose of looking into the reform of the Chancery practice in Alabama, will be composed of A. Leo. Oberdofer of Birmingham, B. P. Crum of Montgomery, H. U. Sims of Birmingham, W. O. Mulkey of Geneva, J. M. Chilton of Montgomery.

Mr. Oliver:

I would like to be excused from acting on the Committee to

prepare a Bill on the Workman's Compensation Act. I will not have time to serve, and I suggest Mr. A. S. Van deGraaff be appointed on that Committee in my place.

The President:

Mr. Van deGraaff will be substituted in place of Mr. Oliver on that Committee, at his suggestion.

The President:

A Committee was authorized by resolution on yesterday to be appointed to ask the Supreme Court to amend its rules so as to first consider a case by the whole Court, decide it, and then have the opinion written, of which Mr. Stevens, your President-elect was the mover, I will appoint Mr. Stevens as Chairman of that Commitee; and E. W. Godbey of New Decatur and Henry Fitts of Birmingham as the other members.

Mr. Nathan:

I move that the Association do now adjourn sine die.
The President:

Before voting on that motion, I wish to say, that we certainly have had a most delightful meeting, and outside of the mere question of presiding, a most successful meeting. I want to thank the members of the Association for courtesies extended me during the meeting, and during the time I have been your President. I want to say again that I sincerely thank you for the honor which you conferred upon me. I want to apologize for not having been more active and more efficient in the discharge of the duties which you imposed upon me. I now with pleasure surrender the dignity and the responsibility and the opportunities which this great office carries to my successor. those favoring the motion to adjourn will say aye.

All
