About the author (2010)

Matthew Richard Poole, a native Californian and San Francisco resident, has authored more than two dozen travel guides to California, Hawaii, and abroad, and is a regular contributor to radio and television travel programs. His other titles include Frommer’s California, Frommer’s Los Angeles, Frommer’s Irreverent Guide to San Francisco, Frommer’s San Francisco Free & Dirt Cheap, and Frommer’s Portable Disneyland. A native San Franciscan, Erika Lenkert divides her time between San Francisco and Napa Valley, where she is forever seeking the next best restaurant, hotel room, and fun way to savor the region. She frequently writes InStyle magazine’s party guides and off ers up tasty tips on the region for Food & Wine magazine. In her spare time she pays visits to local and national television news programs, where she gives entertaining and cooking tips based on her book The Last-Minute Party Girl: Fashionable, Fearless, and Foolishly Simple Entertaining.

Bonnie Wach is a born-and-raised San Franciscan who’s worked at just about every publication with the name “San Francisco” in the title. The author of San Francisco As You Like It: 23 Tailor-Made Tours for Culture Vultures, Shopaholics, Neo-Bohemians, Famished Foodies, Savvy Natives & Everyone Else, she’s the former editor of WHERE San Francisco magazine, a regular contributor to the San Francisco Chronicle and Time Out, and has written for publications ranging from Via and Travel + Leisure to the New York Times Magazine, Scene, and USA Today. She lives, naturally, in San Francisco.
