The PL-801 is the versatile instrument to locate
the existing iron pipe and live cable laid under
the ground.

The differential coil patented by No. 7478145
built in the well-balanced wings locates an
accurate position of the iron pipe laid under the
ground and simultaneously indicates the depth
thereof on the large meter with direct reading
scale.

The T-shaped antenna locates the buried live
cable and operates the amplifier to sound right
upon the live cable.

WATER LEAK DETECTOR model: WL-200

The WL-200 has been designed to listen to the leak noises within either of high or low fre quency band. Therefore, this method will minimize the puzzle for the operators to localize the water leaks on a spot. In the meantime, the operators can roughly distinguish the difference of the kind of pipe laid under the ground.

METAL LOCATOR model: F-80

The F-80 represents a substantial improvement over the conventional instruments. The sharp response to a metal object can be gained without adjusting the control knobs. This simple operation is one of the new features. The collapsible antenna, adjustable length of handle, miniaturized size and light weight will also satisfy the requirements of operators.

Distillery Waste Treatment

The liquid waste from the Alcohol distillery using molasses is presently one of the strongest industrial wastes in respect of Oxygen consuming organic matters. The spent wash from molasses distilleries is acidic in nature having pH around 4 5. The BOD contents of raw spent wash normally varies from 40000 to 60000 mg/l. The pollutional effects of distillery wastes are due to high biochemical oxygen demand and colour. Stagnation of the wastes on land results in obnoxious conditions in the surrounding area. If soil is porous the wastes may also affect the ground water quality. If untreated wastes is discharged into river waters then rapid depletion of Oxygen contents of river water will occurs which will make environment unfit for fish life. It also inparts colour and odour to the water and creates unsightly conditions in the river waters.

The major treatment methods by which the distillery effluent can be treated includes (i) evaporation and incineration of the wastes to generate steam and recover Potash-rich ash, (i) Anaerobic digestion in closed digesters to recover Methane gas followed by aerobic biological treatment, (iii) Anaerobic Lagooning followed by aerobic biological treatment in activated sludge aeration tank or aerated lagoon.

M/s. Enviro Control Associates, Surat has installed the effluent treatment plant for M/s. Shree Chalthan Vibhag Khand Udyog Sahakari Mandli Limited for their distillery effluent stream of Acetone Project for 500 M3/day of flow at a cost of Rs. 35.00 lacs The treatment scheme includes equalisation cum neutralisation, primary clarifications and anaerobic lagoons. The important feature of the scheme is the seeding of specially developed bacterial culture to the anaerobic lagoons to increase BOD removal efficiency of anaerobic lagoons system. After required dilution the effluent shall be used for irrigation purpose.

The treatment with anaerobic and aerated lagoons is a low cost method and require a large area of land owing to the slow rate of stabilisation of the organic matters presents in the wastes. It was observed that 70% to 80% of BOD removal is possible with a residence time of 70 to 120 days Due to high nautrients value like K, Na, Ca, Mg, the wastes can be used for irrigation purpose. The recent approach for the treatment of distillery effluent is to treat the waste in anaerobic digester for Methane recovery. The Methane Gas can be used either as fuel gas or as a raw material for Petrochemical industry.

In case of Potash recovery system the neutralised effluent after filtration is evaporated in multiple effect evaporator to form spent wash coke which is then incinerated and burnt into ash. The ash is then neutralised and crystallised to Potassium Sulphate and Potash. In this case also fuel economy can be achieved by burning spent wash coke in waste heat boiler, drying and concentrating the spent wa sh.

This model is fitted with a vertical four stroke Diesel Engine, having a capacity 16 BHP and 42 BHP at 1800 RPM. It is designed to have a manual and electrical starting device. A gear box, controlled by a single hand clutch lever, having a capacity of 4 speed forward and 4 speed reverse.

The wheels are fabricated from best quality Steel and having water or sand ballasted arrangement. The gear box having differential gear with locking arrangement operated from the driving seat provided for working on the soft grounds and steep surface.

The 8/10 ton and 10 ton rollers are provided with pressure balancing device, with the help of this arrangement the

weight of the roller can be concentrated on the rear rolls when heavy consolidated compaction is to be carried out. The weight of the roller can also be evenly distributed over front and rear rolls, when equalised pressure is required as in the case of surface finishing. By virtue of this device "Tiger" diesel Road Rollers fulfil requirements of tandem rollers as well as conventional three wheeler Rollers.

The sloping design in front of the roller allows the driver to view the front as well as rear ground without any strain. His output is therefore very high. In the case of other designs of road rollers viz., conventional rectangular type, they restrict the view from the front and the rear which would cause much exhaustion to the driver.

Mini Road Rollers are ideal for working in small tedious jobs in various places like footpaths, canal sides, railways platforms etc., due to their easy manoeuvrability of turning within a small radius.
