lty, art and part, of forging the proTory notes of the faid Company, and o of iffuing four of the notes. This rdict was certified by the Judge upon e circuit to the High Court of Jufticiary M'Affee having applied to be ard by coufel in bar of judgement, was contended, that the forgery was nfeffedly perpetrated in the city of ublin in Ireland, and being without e jurisdiction of the court, was not an Fence against the laws of this country; d, fecondly, that the illuing only, when ot joined to the actual forgery, was not crime by the law of Scotland punishle with death. The court, after long eadings, were unanimously of opinion, hat a forgery, perpetrated to take ef. &t in this kingdom, in whatever couny the fame may have been executed, as death; and that the fraudulently ttering and ufing notes, knowing them be forged, was by the law of Scotnd a capital crime. They therefore epelled both objections, and fentenced Afee to be hanged in the Grafs-maret of Edinburgh, on Wednesday fin. 8. ext; and he was executed accordingly.
