In the publication noted above Michener divides the old genus Megachile into three genera, Megachile, Chalicodoma Lepeletier, and Creightonella Cockerell. The latter genus does not occur in North America. All of the subgenera occurring in North America belong to Megachile except Chelostomoides Robertson and Archimegachile Alfken, which belong in Chalicodoma.
