Glorious and spotle88.
JESUS, from whom all blessings flow,
J Great Builder of thy Church below;
If now thy Spirit move my breast,
Hear, and fulfil thine own request.
2 The few that truly call thee Lord,
And wait thy sanctifying word,
And thee their utmost Saviour own
Unite and perfect them in one.
3 O let them all thy mind express,
Stand forth thy chosen witnesses;
Thy power unto salvation show,
And perfect holiness below.
4 In them let all mankind behold
How Christians lived in days of old ;
Mighty their envious foes to move,-
A proverb of reproach--and love.
5 Call them into thy wondrous light,
Worthy to walk with thee in white :
Make up thy jewels, Lord, and show
Thy glorious, spotless Church below.
6 From every sinful wrinkle free,
Redeem'd from all iniquity,
The fellowship of saints make known,
And O, my God, may I be one!
Continued.-Witnesses for Jesus.
MIGHT my lot be cast with these,
The least of Jesus' witnesses;
O that my Lord would count me meet,
To wash his dear disciples' feet!
2 This only thing do I require :
Thou know'st 'tis all my heart's desire,
Freely what I receive to give -
The servant of thy Church to live
( will shall not presail against her. A mosta tbe Lord o basta their tower,
8 After my lowly Lord to go,
And wait upon thy saints below;
Enjoy the grace to angels given,
And serve the royal heirs of heaven.
4 Lord, if I now thy drawings feel,
And nsk according to thy will,
Confirm the prayer, the seal impart,
And speak the answer to my heart.
6 Tell me, or thou shalt never go,
Thy prayer is heard; it shall be so:
The word hath pass d thy lips, and I
Shall with thy people live and die. 227
The river of life.
CREAT Source of being and of love!
Thou wat’rest all the worlds above;
And all the joys which mortals know,
From thine exhaustless fountain flow.
2 A sacred spring, at thy command,
From Zion's mount, in Canaan's land,
Beside thy temple cleaves the ground,
And pours its límpid stream around.
8 Close by its banks, in order fair,
The blooming trees of life appear;
Their blossoms fragrant odours give,
And on their fruit the nations live.
Flow, wondrous stream! with glory crown'd,
Flow on to earth's remotest bound;
And bear us, on thy gentle wave,
To Him who all thy virtues gave.
The gates of hell shall not prevail against her.
THO make the Lord of hosts their tower,
Shall like Monnt Zion be,
Immovable by mortal power,
Built on eternity.
142 INSTITUTIONS OF THE GOSPEL.
2 As round about Jerusalem
The guardian mountains stand,
So shall the Lord encompass them
Who hold by his right hand.
3 The rod of wickedness shall ne'er
Against the just prevail,
Lest innocence should find a spare,
And tempted virtue fail,
4 Do good, O Lord, do good to those
Who cleave to thee in heart, Who on thy truth alone repose,
Nor from thy law depart. 229
Returning to Zion with songs of joy. AUGHTER of Zion, from the dust Again in thy Redeemer trast,
He calls thee from the dead.
2 Awake, awake, put on thy strength,
Thy beautiful array;
The day of freedom dawns at length,
The Lord's appointed day.
3 Rebuild thy walls, thy bounds enlarge,
And send thy heralds forth;
Say to the south, -Give up thy charge!
And, --Keep not back, 0 north!
4 They come, they come: thine exiled bands,
Where'er they rest or roam,
Have heard thy voice in distant lands,
And hasten to their home.
Thus, though the nniverse shall burn,
And God his works destroy,
With songs thy ransom'd shall return,
And everlasting joy.
Sie shall be en el rest in bim,

Security and safety.
CEE the gospel Church secure,
And founded on a Rock;
All her promises are sure;
Her bulwarks who can shock!
Count her every precious shrine;
Tell, to after-ages tell,-
Fortified by power divine,
The Church can never fail.
2 Zion's God is all our own,
Who on his love rely;
We his pard’ning love have known,
And live to Christ, and die :
To the New Jerusalem
He our faithful Guide shall be;
Him we claim, and rest in him,
Through all eternity.
Her confidence and security.
WHO in the Lord confide,
And feel his sprinkled blood,
In storms and hurricanes abide
Firm as the mount of God:
Steadfast, and fix'd, and pure,
His Zion cannot move;
His faithful people stand secure
In Jesus' guardian love.
9 As round Jerusalem
The hilly bulwarks rise,
So God protects and covers them
Froin all their enemies.
On every side he stands,
And for his Israel cares;
And safe in his almighty hands
Their souls forever bears
