from Gernsheim, near Worms, in the Palatinate, Germany, with many other Palatines sailed from London, England, December 25, 1709, for America. Many died at sea, among these Balthazar Loesch, the father.

The survivors reached New York in June, 1710. Their encampment on Nuttings, now Governors Island, N. Y., removal to "Livingston Manor❞—and Schoharie Valley, N. Y., and from there to Berks County, Pa., have already been described.
