OF THE SEVERAL VERSIONS

OF THE

POLYGLOTT BIBLE.

They are printed in a novel and useful manner, so that, by opening the
several Versions at the same page, a most valuable and useful POLYGLOTT
is presented, at the same time possessing all the advantage of separate
volumes, in a convenient size for the pocket.

The ENGLISH is the Authorized Version, and is enriched with Marginal Readings,
and a new and valuable selection of parallel texts in a centre column. This beautiful
edition of the Holy Scriptures is also embellished with thirteen highly finished Coloured
Maps, and a Chronological CHART from the Creation to the fourth century after
Anno Domini, displaying at one view the line of Jesus Christ from Adam, through the
Patriarchs and Judah to David, the Kings of Judah to the captivity, and Salathiel and
Susanna, (in the line recorded by Luke) to Mary; also High Priests, Kings of Israel,
Judges, Prophets, and Historians, with remarkable persons and events, collaterally
placed.

The testimony of the Rev. THOMAS HARTWELL HORNE to the peculiar merit of
this work is as follows. After comparing the different degrees of excellency of Bibles
with parallel texts, Mr. H. concludes," But the most elegant and useful of all the
pocket editions of the entire English Bibles with parallel references, is that published
by Mr. Bagster, and certainly a new selection of upwards of sixty thousand references
